This course will be held online via the Zoom Platform.

Course Description:

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the fitness industry—but knowing how to use AI is only part of the equation. This interactive course teaches fitness professionals how to leverage AI to enhance programming, coaching, communication, content creation, and business operations while maintaining ethical standards, professional scope, privacy, and human oversight. Participants will develop practical prompt-engineering and AI implementation skills while exploring the risks and limitations of AI and discovering why human connection, empathy, professional judgment, and relationships remain the fitness professional’s greatest competitive advantage.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify practical applications of AI within fitness programming, client communication, behavior-change support, content creation, and business operations while recognizing situations that require human oversight and professional judgment.
  2. Develop effective AI prompts using role, task, context, constraints, and format to generate more relevant and useful outputs, and apply a process of reviewing, questioning, refining, verifying, and applying professional judgment before implementation.
  3. Recognize ethical and professional risks associated with AI, including inaccurate information, bias, privacy and data-security concerns, scope-of-practice violations, and overreliance on technology.
  4. Differentiate between tasks that can be enhanced or automated by AI and those that require uniquely human skills, including empathy, relationship-building, observation, adaptability, motivational interviewing, and professional judgment.
